Interior Designing for a Cafe located at D-Mall Indirapuram_Ghaziabad.
The carpet area of the site was 400 sq.ft (approx.). The client approached us with two basic requirements.
His first requirement was to create maximum seating space (25-30 people) with out making the space look claustrophobic. And secondly he wanted a private seating space for 8-10 people.
Any restaurant or cafe is nothing without a kitchen. So providing a sufficient space for kitchen was our mandatory hidden requirement that we had fulfill with in that given space.
Over all we had to design a nice cafe fulfilling all the requirements
The width of the site was 11’3″ and depth was 35’9″. It was quite small space for all the above mentioned requirement.
The cafe site
When we visited the site for the first time, I saw though the dimension of the site was small, but it had potential height of almost 14’0″.
We divided the height into two levels creating a mezzanine. At lower level we created a kitchen which would serve both upper and lower level.
At upper level we created a private seating space for 8-10 people with their private TV.
Designing a staircase was a challenge because beam was running along the ceiling where we created the mezzanine. To solve that problem we created a L-shaped staircase with mid-landing below bottom to achieve the critical height.
Since kitchen was at the back with no window at all. We provided chimney along with the exhaust to remove both smoke and stale air from the space.A fresh air duct was also designed to give the space fresh air as well.
The ceiling had many services pipes, including sanitary, electrical, fire, HVAC. We painted the ceiling black to create an illusion of depth.
Services running along ceiling
We used vibrant colored walls and furniture which gave the space very rich look. For one wall we created a custom made lighting system using MS frame with colorful lighting on it.
On the opposite wall we created a design element using hexagons which looked really beautiful. Below are few images of the site that you can have a look.
